MLab Creaform Digital culture for all

The MLab Creaform is the Musée de la civilisation’s laboratory for innovation and digital creation. In this space dedicated to digital exploration, visitors of all ages can try their hand at tech or come up with new digital creations based on the Musée’s collections, exhibitions and themes.

A range of activities invites visitors to familiarize themselves and creatively use digital technologies including robotics, 3D modelling and printing, programming, electronics, video production and image processing.

Musée employees can also use the space to prototype devices to stimulate innovation in museology.

Over the years, the digital community component has also enabled students and companies to test and prototype several projects in collaboration with Musée employees.

The MLab Creaform will be offering activities for the general public until September 4.

Our digital laboratory aims to:

  • Support dialogue and collaboration with communities
  • Promote the appropriation of digital technologies and cultures by improving digital literacy among Musée visitors and employees
  • Stimulate all forms of museum innovation (social, digital, communicational, etc.)

MLab Creaform was designed and produced by the Musée de la civilisation with the collaboration of the Plan culturel numérique du Québec, the Secrétariat à la Capitale-Nationale, the ministère de l’Économie, de la Science et de l’Innovation, the Ville de Québec, Creaform and Cégep Garneau.
