The Musée’s collective space Green light
Green Light is not your typical exhibition. It is a hub for social innovation where ideas flow freely. While you will find a few artworks and collection objects, it is primarily a place for cultural activities, educational programs and community workshops, all related to exhibition themes, social issues, current events and other thought-provoking topics. The ideas often intersect and challenge one another, but they are all intended to achieve the same goal: to nurture critical, logical and creative thinking.
Green Light is a dynamic, ever-evolving space that calls for frequent visits. It may be different the next time you drop by since it is constantly changing… perhaps even thanks to your own ideas and projects!
No Musée entrance ticket is required to visit Green Light. Entry to the space and the activities it offers are completely free.

What to see and do at all times in Green Light
Should we not walk a mile in someone else’s shoes before we judge?
While giving people a voice is at the heart of Green Light, self-expression is sometimes difficult for a variety of reasons. Personal stories were collected during a session with the Pech-Sherpa and Engrenage St-Roch St-Roch organizations. With the goal of linking the Musée’s mission and using objects to tell stories, these everyday experiences inspired the tales that accompany each pair of shoes.
Come and listen, and be moved by the diversity of human experiences.
N’entre pas dans mon âme avec tes chaussures invites you to open your mind and become more attuned to others. It is a way to connect and meet each other with empathy and kindness.
The title—meaning “Do not enter my soul in your shoes”—is drawn from an ancient proverb, also used as the title of a poetry collection by author Natasha Kanapé Fontaine.
Discover the animated cabinet of scenographer and miniature artist Vano Hotton!
Since the dawn of time, we have sought ways to communicate. From mime to words, paper to Wi-Fi, our ingenuity knows no bounds when it comes to creating ways to exchange information, intentions or emotions. But do we truly succeed in getting our message across?
Fascinated by both what transcends and limits him, Vano Hotton places the scale of human interaction at the heart of his work. When he is not building massive theatre sets, he delights in imagining, like a child observing ants through a magnifying glass, what daily life might look like if humans were the size of insects.

Communication is at the heart of Trompe-oreille. Have fun decoding the messages in this game, whether at the Musée or at home.
Psst… There is more than one way to see things!
Expect to be astonished and enthralled by Agora, a piece made up of over a hundred portraits!
Faces stare back at us from an uncertain time and place. They vary in age, gender and origin—so what ties them together? They have all been created using artificial intelligence. Behind them, a worn and pixelated public gathering place, or agora, raises questions about the state and evolution of democracy. How can we safeguard democracy in the face of today’s challenges?
Wartin Pantois is a socially conscious artist from Québec City. His work challenges the world as it is, its values and its potential. Pantois’ contextual pieces provide new perspectives that spark reflection and conversation.
Sit back and enjoy a unique sound experience in the Vault of Purposes, located within the Musée’s collective space, Green Light.
This evolving sound experience has been designed with input from visitors. The aim of the installation is to raise awareness of the atmosphere of a space and the emotions felt while listening to the sound loop, designed to encourage exchange and reflection.
Visitors can also take part in a collaborative audiovisual work or simply join listening sessions on site, a project born from the Incubateur d’innovations muséales.
